PETER HAMM

Peter Hamm was born Mar. 10, 1895 in Ruckenau, southern Russia. When he was 14, the family moved to Rosenwald, Siberia. He married Elizabeth Voth Jan. 28, 1919. He accepted the Lord, was baptized and joined the MB church in Schoenthal, Siberia when he was 26. In August, 1925 he, his wife and 2 children immigrated to Saskatchewan , where he farmed. Later they moved to Abbotsford, B.C., where he farmed and worked away from home much of the time. In 1963 they retired to Clearbrook, B.C., where he remained until his death. His family brought him much pride and joy, and church was a source of inspiration and comfort. He was interested in nature and enjoyed fishing with family and friends. He enjoyed travelling and talking with people. Having coffee out with his family had become a regular routine. Predeceased by 2 infant children in Russia, daughter Mary Janzen in 1987 and 2 grandchildren, he is survived by his wife; 8 children; 56 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
