HENRY PETER WIEBE

Henry Peter Wiebe of Clearbrook, B.C. passed away July 14. He was born Oct. 19, 1911 to Peter and Anna Wiebe in Arkadak, Russia. In 1929-30 the family immigrated to the Paraguayan Chaco. He married Lydia Kliewer in Lichtfelde, Fernheim Colony Oct. 5, 1934. He received Jesus in July, 1934 and in November was baptized and joined the MB church. In 1936 they moved to the new Friesland Colony, in 1945 to a cattle ranch in the Chaco and in 1947 to Filadelfia, where he worked on the industrial work site. In 1957 they immigrated to Winnipeg. He worked for Sangster's Autobody and James B. Carter & Son. They attended South End (now Portage Ave.) MB Church. In 1976 they retired to Clearbrook, joining Clearbrook MB Church. Lydia died in February, 1979. He then married Nettie Schmidt. They sang in church choirs and served on catering committees and enjoyed traveling. Cancer was discovered in winter, 1990, and he entrusted himself to the Lord's will and keeping. He is mourned by his wife Nettie; sons Albert, Henry, Helmut, George, Edwin and Peter; daughter Annemarie; 19 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers and 1 sister. The funeral was July 19 in Clearbrook MB Church, with John E. Klassen and son Ed ministering.
