MARY G. WILLMS

Mary G. Willms of Clearbrook, B.C. passed away Apr. 17. She was born June 25,1906 to George and Maria Neufeld in Hierschau, Russia. She had a happy childhood, but war ended her education at 15. American evangelists brought revival, and she accepted the Lord. She was baptized with her parents May 22, 1923. She married Frank J. Willms May 30, 1925. In October, 1926 they immigrated to Gretna, Man. He taught school. In 1946 they moved to a fruit farm in Rosedale, B.C. Later they moved to Chilliwack, B.C. She loved to garden, sew and sing. She participated in church choirs and was a member of Broadway MB Church in Chilliwack for many years. She was a faithful wife and mother, showing her love in many practical ways. Frank died in 1955, but she later wrote that God "never left me". In 1979 her health and memory deteriorated. She moved to Tabor Home in Clearbrook, B.C. and then to Menno Hospital in 1981. Predeceased by her husband, 2 sisters and 2 brothers, she is mourned by her children Frank, Evangeline Kornelson, Edith Esau, Rudy, Eleanore Klassen and Grace Wiens; 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. The funeral was Apr. 20 in Broadway MB Church, with Bob Friesen ministering.
