text of obituary:

Jakob Schellenberg †

St. Catharines, Ontario

Eure trauernde Schwester

English translation:

Jakob Schellenberg †

St. Catharines, Ontario

It pleased the Heavenly Father to transfer my dearly beloved husband to His heavenly kingdom of joy through death.

On August 25 at 1:10 p.m., God's call went out to him: "Return, children of men" (Psalm 90:3).

He was in the hospital here in St. Catharines for just over three months. On May 22, he was taken to the hospital. On June 20, he had two operations for blood clots. One operation was at 1 o'clock on the right side of the abdomen, and a second, more severe, in the middle of the abdomen at 10 p.m.

Miraculously, he survived both operations, but as a result of malfunctioning blood circulation he developed gangrene. On July 3, his left leg was amputated above the knee. From that day on, my dear husband could rarely think clearly. When asked if he was ready to go home, he answered "Yes".

The physical powers of my otherwise so strong and healthy husband deteriorated more and more. In the last days he was always unconscious until he was released from his severe suffering on August 25.

My dear husband Jakob Schellenberg, born in Davlekanovo, Ufa, Russia, was 63 years, 3 months and 15 days old.

The funeral service was held on August 28 at the M.B. church.

Your grieving sister

Widow Katya Schellenberg and children, 49 Chaplin Street, St. Catharines, Ontario.
