MRS. HELEN KOOP

(Mrs.) Helen Koop of Winnipeg, Man., ied on April 18 after a long battle with ancer . She was 53 years old . She was born in Sagradowka, in southern Russia on September 23, 1924 to J acob H . nd Helene (Martens) Peters. The family migrated to Canada in 1925 and settled in Gretna, Man. Helen attended the Mennonite ollegiate Institute, and as a young girl ccepted Christ and was baptized in the Altona Mennonite Brethren Church. She attended teachers college from 1943 to 944, and taught in various districts for a otal of 14 years. In 1948 she married Henry Koop, and together they raised a family of our children . She was an active member of the North Kildonan Mennonite Brethren Church in Winnipeg for many years, and later joined he new McIvor Avenue Church in the same ity . She was involved in vacation Bible chool, Pioneer Girls and ladies' group work. She leaves to mourn, though not without ope, her husband Henry , one daughter Ruth (Mrs. Tim) Klippenstein; three sons; David and his wife Dolores, Wilmer and his wife Eleanore, and Arthur at home; three rothers and their wives and many other elatives and friends.
