WILHELM ISAAC

Wilhelm Isaac was born on February 25, 1892 in Memrick, Russia, to Peter and Helena (Reimer) Isaac. He was baptized and received into the Mennonite Brethren Church on May 15, 1919. On June 23, 1920 he married Katarina Janzen, and they became the parents of four sons, one of whom died in infancy. The Isaac family escaped from Russia over the Amur River to Harbin, China in 1929. From there they emigrated to the Chaco, Paraguay in 1932, and in 1937 moved to Friesland in east Paraguay.

Katarina Isaac died in 1962. Two years later Wilhelm moved to Vancouver, B.C., to live with his children, Frank and Tina Isaac. Here he joined the Vancouver Mennonite Brethren Church on 43rd Ave. On November 8, 1969 he married (Mrs.) Susie Lutke. Mr. Isaac became ill suddenly in March, was rushed to Vancouver General Hospital, and passed away to be with his Lord six hours later.

He leaves to mourn his loving wife, Susie; three sons, Frank, Jacob and Willy; three daughters, Erna, Myrtle and Helga; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.
