Nettie Janzen

Nettie Janzen of Clearbrook, B.C. passed away Apr. 27. She was born Mar. 11, 1910 to Aron J. and Anna Wiens in Mountain Lake, MN. A year later the family moved to Saskatchewan. In 1925 she became a Christian during evangelistic meetings led by C.N. Hiebert in Borden (Sask.) MB Church and was baptized in May. She went to Bethany Bible Institute for 2 years and taught Sunday school for a few years. She helped her parents on the farm until their death. She then worked for a few years in Saskatoon. She married Henry P. Janzen of Langham, Sask. July 30, 1944. In 1945 they moved to B.C. Her children remember her deep love for them and the concern she expressed for their spiritual and physical welfare. She worked hard to make ends meet. Later on, Henry and Nettie enjoyed several trips and a more relaxed lifestyle. In the last few years illness caused them to stay at home, where they lovingly cared for each other. Henry passed away Sept. 14, 1988. She was quick to praise the Lord in spite of much illness, suffering and loneliness. She looked forward to going home. She is survived by her children Len and Shirley of Clearbrook, Grace of Abbotsford, B.C., Don and Stella of Surrey, B.C. and Ron and Lil of Abbotsford; and 9 grandchildren. The funeral was May 3 in East Aldergrove (B.C .) MB Church, with Jacob Neufeld ministering.
