George A. Zacharias

Gerald A. Zacharias of Kelowna, B.C. passed away Mar. 2. He was born Aug. 12, 1935 to Abe and Helen Zacharias of Herbert, Sask. He grew up on the family farm. He accepted Jesus at age 9 and was later baptized. He enjoyed singing in the choir and quartet and serving on the church board. In 1955 he married Mirvina Yeske of Herbert. He was devoted to his family. When he was 28, a rare, incurable blood disease was diagnosed, but he dared to live in spite of it. After living in Swift Current, Sask. for 11 years, they moved to B.C. He was happy in his work as a Ford parts manager, but poor health forced him into early retirement in 1979. He loved life and, despite his suffering, was a thankful man, making the most of each day and displaying courage and faith. Predeceased by his infant twin brother and 2 sisters, he is mourned by his wife; daughters Lyla Cambridge and Fay Kroeker; son Dale; 4 grandchildren; 3 brothers and 2 sisters. The funeral was Mar. 6 in Willow Park Church, Kelowna, with Ed Boschmnn and Herb Brandt ministering.
