David J. Huebert

David J. Huebert of Waldheim, Sask. passed away Mar. 10. He was born Mar. 24, 1912 to John D. and Katharina Huebert in Petrovka, Russia. After living in several villages, they immigrated to Canada in 1925. They spent the first winter on a farm near Main Centre, Sask. The next year they settled on a farm near Beechy, Sask. He worked at various farm jobs to help the family. They moved to a farm near Brotherfield, Sask. in 1939. He married Dora Berg Aug. 4, 1942. They lived on his parents' farm. They moved to their own farm in 1944, which they worked until retiring to Waldheim in 1976. Here they spent many happy hours gardening. He worked in his workshop, but also had time for community seniors' activities, especially bowling and playing pool. He also enjoyed fishing and entertaining his grandchildren. He was baptized in the MB church in Beechy in 1937 and attended Dalmeny Bible School. He served the Lord faithfully in Brotherfield and Waldheim MB Churches. Predeceased by 1 sister, he is survived by his wife; children Carol Willems, Ron, and Shirley Siebert; 8 grandchildren; 1 brother and 3 sisters.
