Susie Giesbrecht

Susie Giesbrecht of Grunthal, Man. passed away Jan. 13. She was born June 5, 1902 to Jacob and Margaret Rempel near Altona, Man. She married Peter F. Wiebe, and they farmed near Blumenhof, Man . Her poor health and the death of 3 of her 6 children marked these years. In 1951 husband Peter died. She moved off the farm and worked at Steinbach (Man.) Hospital. In 1966 she married Henry Heinrichs. He died in 1971. In 1973 she married William B. Giesbrecht. He died 9 years later. Her last years were spent at Menno Home in Grunthal. She eagerly anticipated her home in heaven. She is remembered for her deep heart for God. Hard work, poverty, sickness and deaths only seemed to strengthen her faith. She is also remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and confidant who girded her family with prayer and support. She loved people and loved helping others. She is remembered by her sons Ed of Wawanesa, Man., Henry of Winnipeg and Pete of Blumenort, Man., 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. The funeral was Jan. 17 in Steinbach MB Church, with Bill Lehman ministering.
