Mary Viola Nickel

Mary Viola Nickel of Main Centre, Sask. passed away .Jan. 15. She was born Jan. 27, 1915 in Main Centre. She was baptized at the Capeland Conference Church in Main Centre. She attended Briercrest Bible Institute and was employed there for 3 years following graduation. She married Anton Nickel Aug. 5, 1948. She enjoyed gardening and growing beautiful flowers. She was artistic at cake-decorating, and her unusual masterpieces even brought orders from outside the province. In her later years, when she was a shut-in, she enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting gifts for her family. Predeceased by 3 brothers, 1 granddaughter and 1 grandson, she is survived by her son Marvin; daughters Marlene Zentner, Ruby Rushaway , Evelyn Nickel, Ivy Tait and Bea Ens; stepsons Peter and John; 7 grandchildren; 14 step grandchildren and 15 step great-grandchildren. The funeral was Jan. 19 in Main Centre MB Church, with Reg Toews ministering.
