SARA KUTZ GIESBRECHT

Sara Kutz of Kitchener, Ont. was born Jan. 30, 1903 to Wilhelm and Katharina Giesbrecht in Orenburg, Russia. In 1914 the family, including 10 children, moved to Grossfiirstental in the Caucasus, where she received her education. In her 16th year, she accepted Jesus, based on I John 1:7. She was baptized by John J. Toews and joined the MB church. In 1919 both parents died of typhus. The following years were difficult for the children, but they trusted the Lord and kept their faith. In 1924 she immigrated to Winkler, Man. with her sister's family, Rev. and Mrs. Bernhard B. Boldt. In 1927 she moved to Kitchener. Here she met .Jacob A. Kutz while singing in the church choir. They were married Sept. 2, 1928. Together they dedicated their lives to God's service in the church. She was a faithful helpmate, constantly entertaining and encouraging. She hosted many people, often for weeks at a time, cheerfully and willingly, with a song on her lips. She believed in practical Christianity and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She loved God's Word , her family and the church. Predeceased by I granddaughter, 2 brothers and 7 sisters, she is mournered by her husband; children Arthur, Vera Baerg and Helga Kutz Harder; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. The funeral was Jan. 2 in Kitchener MB Church, with John Wall and Ron Toews ministering.
