MRS. FRIEDA PENNER

Mrs. Frieda Penner of Virgil, Onto was called home suddenly on July 17 while visiting in Saskatchewan. She was born on January 5, 1910 in Herzenberg, Ekaterinoslav, Russia, the youngest daughter of Frank and Helena Dirksen. In 1921, she immigrated with her family to New Jersey, U .S.A. and several years later to Herbert, Sask. At the age of 19 she accepted Christ as her personal Saviour and followed the Lord in baptism in July, 1930, joining the Main Centre (Sask.) Church.

On July 24, 1934 she married Peter P . Penner of Laird, Sask. A daughter and a son were born to them while they farmed at Laird. In 1942 they moved to the Niagara Peninsula and here a second son was born to them. In 1952 her husband started a lumber business in Virgil, in which she gave him many years of faithful assistance. Her hus- . band predeceased her on August 22, 1973.

Mrs. Penner loved the Lord and his Word and enjoyed studying prophecy. In the last few months of her life she repeatedly mentioned that she looked forward to going to heaven. The funeral service was conducted at the Virgil Church on July 21 with Abe Quiring ministering.

She was predeceased by her husband, a sister Elizabeth, both parents; and will be sadly missed by a daughter, Miriam Penner Harz; two sons, Elden and his wife Irene, and Harry and his wife Marlene; nine grandchildren; and three sisters , (Mrs.) Helen Unger of Saskatoon, (Mrs.) Tina Nickel of Clearbrook, B.C. and Miss Sara Dirksen of Virgil, Ont.
