• A tragic two-car crash last Wednesday evening at West Twelfth and Meridian, just outside the Newton city limits, claimed the lives of three Newton residents. Richard C. Crigger, 12-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. James Crigger, died at Axtell Christian Hospital several hours after the crash. Kenneth A. Clymer, two-month-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Gene A. Clymer, died about 10:30 p.m. at the Bethel Hospital, and the baby's mother, Ramona Pearl Clymer, 24, died Sunday afternoon at Axtell Hospital without regaining consciousness. The Crigger youth and a friend were passengers in the Clymer car, which apparently went through a stop sign and was hit by a southbound car occupied by two Hutchinson girls. Funeral services for Richard Crigger were held Saturday at the Koerner Heights M. B. Church, with Rev. David D. Block officiating. Survivors in addition to the parents include three brothers and his grandfather, Jacob J. Adrian of Wichita.
