Elder Heinrich Funk, 80, one of the Mennonite Church leaders in the Soviet Union, died Nov. 21 in the city of Karaganda, according to a report in The Canadian Mennonite. He had planned to migrate to Canada in 1929 but was sent into northern exile two hours before his announced departure.
