text of obituary:

MRS. MARGARETA REGEHR

(Mrs.) Margareta Regehr was born on March 6, 1905 in Schoensee, Molotschna Colony, Russia, the daughter of Jakob and Sara (nee Wall) Duerksen. In her youth she made a definite decision for Christ, and on confession of her faith was baptized and accepted into the Mennonite Brethren Church, of which she remained a faithful member until the Lord called her home on February 18, 1977.

She was able to leave Russia with her family in 1929. Due to health reasons, entry into Canada was denied and the family moved to Paraguay. Here she married John Regehr in 1934, accepting the motherhood of his two children. The Lord blessed them with five more children. After 24 years in Paraguay the Regehrs moved to Canada and settled in Vancouver, B.C.

In the fall of 1975 she began to experience pain. Cancer was diagnosed, but during her suffering she was content that God's way was right, and looked forward to being with him.

She leaves to mourn to beloved husband, John: three sons and their wives, John and Susie in Vancouver, Peter and Kay in Langley, B.C., and Henry and Esther in Waterloo; three daughters, Sara (Mrs. John) Federau and Annie of Vancouver, and Tina (Mrs. Paul) Giesbrecht of Richmond, B.C.; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Abram Duerksen in Paraguay; and many friends.
