Justina Enns of Winnipeg passed away at the Donwood Manor on September 28, after a lengthy illness. She was born in the village of Tiegenhagen, in southern Russia, on May 6, 1905, to Jacob and Maria (Loewen) Rempel. She enjoyed a happy childhood and youth and as a young person was baptized and received into the Mennonite church in Halbstadt upon her confession of faith.
In 1925 her parents and their family emigrated from Russia to Canada. They settled firstt on a farm near Graysville, Manitoba, and then moved to another near Sanford. In 1930 Justina entered into marriage with Nikolai Enns, a union blessed with five sons and four daughters. They took up farming at Domain, raising their family there and enjoying the fellowship of the church. In 1957 they joined the Mennonite Brethren church at Domain. In 1960 they gave up farming and moved to Winnipeg, joining the Elmwood Mennonite Brethren Church.
Justina was a woman or prayer and concerned for the salvation of her children. She loved to sing and encouraged much singing in the family. In the church she participated actively in the women's circles.
