MRS. KATHARINA ADRIAN

Katharina Adrian, daughter of Jacob Vogt and Katharina Dyck Vogt, was born on Dec. 13, 1879, near Burrton, Harvey county, Kans. and died Dec. 14, 1953, in Escondido, Calif.

She received her education in the nearby district school, both English and German. In her youth she accepted Christ as her Saviour and upon her confession of faith was baptized by Elder Dietrich Gaeddert and received into the Hoffnungsau church on June 7, 1897.

On April 5, 1907, she was united in marriage to Henry H. Adrian. Shortly afterward the young couple moved to Hooker, Okla. where they resided about four years.

In the summer of 1911 Mr. and Mrs. Adrian and three children went west to establish their home in southern California and she had lived there until her death.

She was a loving wife and mother, always devoted to her family and caring for those she loved.

About 18 years ago her physical strength was so much reduced that she submitted to treatment by a specialist to supply her life blood by special concentrated food. Her strength was somewhat revived, but at best it was only temporary. The last several months a malady in her nervous system gave her very severe pain at times till the Lord called her home. She reached the age of 74 years and one day.

She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, Hendy [sic Henry] Adrian; five daughters, Tena, Mrs. W. M. Reimer, Linda, Mrs. H. S. Jenkins, Selma, Mrs. R. H. Green, Hulda, Mrs. R. N. Cotton, Edna, Mrs. D. B. Green; also 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren, four sisters, two brothers and many nephews and nieces.

Funeral services were held in the Alhiser-Wilson chapel, Rev. Benjamin Babcock, pastor of the Valley Center Community church, officiated. Burial was in the Oak Hill cemetery.
