MRS. H. H. FLAMING

Lena Suderman Flaming was born April 8, 1882 in the Ebenfeld community near Hillsboro, Kan. Here she spent her childhood days and obtained her education. In early youth she realized her lost condition and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour. On June 6, 1897, upon the confession of her faith, she was baptized by Rev. John Foth and received into the Ebenfeld Mennonite Brethren Church.

On Sept. 29, 1918 she entered holy matrimony with our father, Cornelius Epp of Isabella, Okla. Herewith she accepted our family of 11 children, whom she loved and cared for as her vary own. Our parents shared joys and sorrows for 15 years, when in January 1933 our father was taken from her side through an automobile accident, in which she also was seriously injured. Mother remained on the farm for three difficult years, managing the farm in an efficient way.

In 1936 she made her home in Hillsboro, Kan, where on Nov. 17, 1940 she was united in marriage to Rev. Henry H. Flaming of Premont, Texas. They resided a short while in Premont, then made their home in Hillsboro.

In March 1962 they entered the Home for the Aged in Corn, Okla. Mother enjoyed fair health all her life until about the last five years. She grew steadily weaver until she was confined to her bed for over a year. She suffered much, yet with patience until the Lord relieved her from this suffering on Oct. 14, 1963. She reached the age of 81 years, six months and eight days.

Mother loved the church and served it faithfully, first as a deacon's wife and later standing by Elder H. H. Flaming in his ministry to the church and the conference.

She leaves to mourn her bereaved husband, Rev. H. H. Flaming and his family, and the children she cared for: Cornelius Epp, Denver, Colo.; Peter C. Epp, Reedley, Calif.; Tena [sic Tina], Mrs. J. D. Patzkowsky, Reedley; Carrie, Mrs. Barney Harder, Wichita, Kan.; Sarah, Mrs. J. A. Suderman, Wichita; Margaret Eop [sic Epp], Monclova, Mexico; Selma, Mrs. J. F. Thomas, Tulsa, Okla.; Eva, Mrs. Otto Wiens, Reedley; and Albert Epp, Corn, Okla. Also surviving are four sons-in-law; 30 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Nickilas [sic Nicholas], Dietrich, and Ed Suderman. all of Hillsboro, Kan. Two sons, Abraham and Daniel, one daughter-in-law and four grandchildren preceded her in death. — The Family.
