MRS. ANNA DIRKS
(Mrs.) Anna Dirks was born in Margenau Molotschna Colony in southern Russia, on February 1, 1882 to Johann and Anna Dick In 1902 she was married to Cornelius Dirks and they lived in Karassan, Crimea. During the great revival movement among the Mennonite in the 1920's she accepted Chris as her personal Saviour. She was late baptized and joined the Evangelical Menno nite Brethr(m Church. The Dirks moved to Canada in 1925 settling in Crowfoot, Alta., where they joined the Mennonite Brethren Church. Later they farmed at Tofield. In 1946 they moved to Coaldale, Alta., where they enjoyed the fellowship of believers, attending church services as often as possible. Her public prayers and cheerful disposition were appre ciated. In 1970 Mrs. Dirks was taken to the Haven of Rest Home in Medicine Hat. Her faith and confidence in God remained un shaken in her old age, and the Lord called her home on January 25. She was predeceased by her husband, her parents and her three sisters. At a funeral service held January 30 in the Coaldale Mennonite Brethren Church pastor Rudy Heidebrecht spoke from Psalm 116: 15 and a ladies group sang. She leaves to mourn her niece, (Mrs.) Elizabeth Heidebrecht, who is her closest relative, and many friends.
