Early-Day Settler In Western Oklahoma Dies

Corn, Okla. — Funeral services for Mrs. Lena Heidebrecht, 80, an early-day settler in this western Oklahoma area, were held Dec. 20 at the Bethel Mennonite Church near Hydro. Rev. Henry Hege of Geary officiated.

A native of Burrton, Kansas, Mrs. Heidebrecht was the former Lena Hinz. She came to the Corn community with her parents as a child. The year following her marriage to Abraham Heidebrecht in 1901, they moved to a farm south of Hydro where they continued to live until 1938. Mr. Heidebrecht died in 1940.

Mrs. Heidebrecht moved from Hydro to the Corn Home for Aged in 1959, and more recently was cared for at Weatherford where she died Dec. 17. A brief service was conducted at a funeral home there Tuesday forenoon, Rev. J. K. Warkentin officiating.

Surviving are four daughters and three sons and their families, one brother and one sister.
