Two Funerals At Kansas Church
Hutchinson, Kan. — Two mothers, members of the Center Amish Mennonite church southwest of here, were called away in death within recent weeks.
Funeral services for Mrs. Levi D. Miller 58, were held at the church on April 20. Over 500 people including relatives from Oklahoma, Iowa, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Florida attended the services, which were in charge of Bishop Amos Nisley, W. W. Wagler and Henry J. Yoder of Thomas, Okla.
Mrs. Miller died Easter Sunday morning after having been ill with cancer for nine months. Surviving in addition to her husband are nine sons, three daughters, three sisters, three brothers and her step-mother, Mrs. D. A. Nisley [sic Nisly].
Mrs. Raymond Wagler of Partridge died April 22 after a number of years of declining health. On April 22, 1959 she underwent major surgery for the removal of a brain tumor.
Funeral services were held at the Center A. W. church [Center Amish Mennonite church] on Monday forenoon, April 25, in charge of Amos Nisley, assisted by David L. Miller and Jonas J. Beachy of Kalona, Iowa.
Survivors include her husband, editor of the German section of the “Herold der Warheit,” and four children, Paul, Harley, Ruth and Phillip, all of the home.
