ABRAM DAHL
Abram Dahl was born on September 25 1903 in the district of Terek in souther Russia to Johann and Maria (nee Wiebe Dahl. He spent his childhood there, but th unfavorable climate and the threat of malari prompted the family to leave the area an move to Waldheim, the Molotschna, fo several years. In 1911 they moved to th village of Tiegenhagen. Here Abe receive his education. In 1917 father Dahl went to b with the Lord. In 1924 his mother and several of th children emigrated from Russia to Canada They moved to a farm at La Salle, Manitoba The Lord blessed their efforts, enabling them to establish a home there for the next 2 years. There Abe made his peace with Go and later was baptized by Rev. Phillip Wieb and received into the Mennonite Brethre Church, where he remained a loyal membe to the end. In 1950 the Lord called Abe's mother t himself. Shortly after this Abe moved t Winnipeg, where he and his sister found home at 159 Poplar Avenue. They joined th Elmwood Church. Brother Abe was asked t serve as superintendent of church an grounds (Hausvater). He was also involve in committees and served wherever he was required. These were meaningful years in terms of service and fellowship with many of God's children. On November 13, at the age of 70 years , he passed away unexpectedly. The funeral was held in the Elmwood Church on November 16. He leaves to mourn one sister, Neta; one brother, Jacob; two sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews; plus a host of friends. He was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters.
