ABRAM PENNER

Abram Penner was born on April 16, 1909 to Peter and Katherine Penner in Kronsweide, Alt Kolonie, Russia. He received his schooling and accepted Jesus Christ as his Saviour and Lord in his early teens.

With his parents he emigrated to Canada in 1926 and settled on a farm in the Springstein area. In 1928 he was baptizand received into the M.B. Church. He continued to be an interested and active member of the church until his death.

He married Susie Klassen of Steinbach in 1936, and this marriage was blessed with 5 children, 2 of which predeceased him in early infancy. He enjoyed his work on the farm, and when the family moved to Winnipeg in 1951 he continued his farming operations from the city until 1970. After recovering from one heart attack he enjoyed fairly good health until his sudden death on May 30, when he was called to his heavenly home.

He leaves to mourn his beloved wife, Susie ; 2 daughters, 1 son, their respective families; 2 sisters and 4 brothers.
