FRANZ KOOP

in 1'895 in Gnadenheim, S. Russia. He was converted at the age of 12 and his entire Nfe was a testimO'ny to his Lord. DuringWWI he served in th'e Russian medica,1 'corps. In 1928 he was married and together with h'is wife Maria was bapt'izedlater the s'ame year and jO'ined the Evang'elical church. They adopted four children, one o,f them dying in early youth. As conditionsin Russi'a worsened, the family emigrated to Canada via Moscow and Germany and arrived in Coaldale ,in 1930. Here they jOlined the MlB Church wher,e Franz was active on the chu,rch coundl for many yea,rs. After many years of hard wDrk farming, he retired in 1951. Mer WWI!I he was able to welcDme several relatives from Russia. He died on January 13 in his 78th year, two weeks short of c'elebrating their golden wedding anniversary. Left to mourn are his wife Maria, three sons, two sisters, 1 brothe'r, 14 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. The funeral was held in the Coa'idale MB Church on January 17 with Rev. Henry Nikkel officiatinng.
