Bank President Dies in Farm Accident

O. B. SHOWALTER OF YODER, KAN. KILLED IN FALL FROM WAGON

Walker, Mo. — A fall from the top of a loaded hay wagon proved fatal here on Sept. 15 to O. B. Showalter, 67, president of the Yoder Farmers Savings Bank at Yoder, Kan. The fatal accident took place at the farm of a son, Russell Showalter, when he was knocked from the wagon by a tree limb.

The body was returned to Kansas, and funeral services were arranged for Wednesday forenoon at the West Liberty Mennonite Church near Windom, with Rev. S. E. King of Hutchinson officiating.

Mr. Showalter was formerly president of the Buhler State Bank. The accident took place on his 67th birthday.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Roberta Kreider of Hannibal; four sons, Russell of this place, Ray of Wadsworth, Ohio, Rev. Richard Showalter of Reedley, Calif.; and Robert, associated with his father in the bank; three brothers, six sisters, and 17 grandchildren.
