ANNA GOERTZ
Mrs. Anna Goertz, of Edmonton, Alberta was born 1902 in Southern Russia. She was the oldest daughter of Peter and Mar,garetha Dyck. Her mother passed away when Anna was seven years old. Anna accepted Christ as her personal Saviour in her youth, and in 1919 was baptized and received into the fellowship of the Waldheim Mennonite Brethren Church in ,Russia. In 1926, after her father had died at the hands of the rebels, she along with other family members left Russia for Canada, arriving in Davidson, Saskatchewan, In 1928 the Dyokfamily moved to a farm near Pincher Creek, Alberta. In 1958 she was uni,ted in marriage to Peter Goertz of Lindbrook, Alber'ta. She was a 'faithful, loving companion and was well accepted as mother by the grown children of his first marriage. Qnly too soon the years slipped by. Her hea,lth suddenly declined and she was hospitalized. Anna went to be with the ilord in the early morning of November 8, 1972. , She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband Peter, along wi,th relatives and friends. Funeral services were held in the Tofield Mennonite Brethren Church on November 11, 1972. Rev. Peter Rempel of Edmonton, AI'berta, and Rev. Peter Warkentin of Tofield, Alberta officiated.
