BARNEY GEORGE NEUFELD

Barney George Neufeld was born on May 5, 1906 in Plum Coulee, Manitoba . At the age of approximately 20 he moved to Saskatoon where for the past 36 years he had practiced as a Swedish masseur. He enjoyed helping people and serving this way.

For some years he was a member of the First Mennonite Church of Saskatoon. He made a clear commitment to Christ about 10 years ago. In his own devotional time he regularly used Our Daily Bread, which meant much to him in recent years. He enjoyed prayer and Bible reading. He passed away after a lengthy illness on March 5. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth; one son, Robert of Winnipeg; two daughters, Linda (Mrs. Bob) Washington, Winnipeg, and Catherine (Mrs. Robert) Speiser, of Beechy; and eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Sarah; a baby daughter, Ruth; and two brothers. His friendly smile and cheerful disposition gained him many friends who also mourn his passing.

The funeral was conducted at the Central Mennonite Brethren Church of Saskatoon on March 8 with the pastor, Henry J. Harder, officiating.
