JACOB FRANK HUBERT
Jacob Huebert of Coaldale, Alta., passed · away ·in th'e Coaldale Hosp.i'M'1 on January 6. He was born September 17, 1904,in !Margenau, in the Ukraine, ,to Frank and Helena (nee Barg) Huebert. In his early childhood the family moved to Siberia, where they re'sided unt'il moving to Canada. They lived 'One year at Duchess, Alta., t,hen came to Coaldale. In his youth he found salvation in Ohrist and was baptized and received ,into the Mennonite Brethren church. In November, 1934 he married Agnes Janz, a 'union to which were born s'ix boys and one ,g·ir'l. The accidenta,1 death of the oldest son, Jacob, was a severe shock to the entire family and especially to the father. Mr. Hubert car,ried a great concern for you~h, which led to involvement in the establishment of the Albena Mennonite Hi-gh Schoot He devoted 15 years t'Oits development and administration before 'it closed. Though he enjoyed robust health most of his life, a seri'Ous car acddent in 1962 resulted ininjurie's fr'Om which he never fully recovered.Worseni'ng health 'eventually ,forced him 10 g'ive up farming . He is smV'ived by his wife, Agnes; one da,ughter, Agnes; five s'Ons, John of Brooks, Alta., Frank of Calgary, Dav,id 'Of Fort McMurray, Henry of Kaml'O'Ops and Ben 'of Winnipeg; as lWeli as nine grandch'ildren, three sisters and three brothers. Rev. David Pankratz and Rev. H. Kornelson ministered 'at the funeral, conducted from the Coaldalle MiB Church.
