JOHN DAVID FROESE

A resident of Sardis, B.'C., John David Froese, 65, passed away at Chilliwack General Hospita'i on November 29. He was born in Russia on December 1, 1905, where he also spent his youth. He was married there in 1928 and in the following year he and his wife leoft Russia for Canada. They settled first in Aberdeen Sask., and four years later moved to British Co'lumbia, to the Sardis area. He came to faith in Christ in January, 1947 and ,in the same year, in June, was baptized and received into the Greendale Mennonite Brethren Church. It was a joy for him to serve as an usher in ,the church for 22 years. He enjoyed the fellowship in the church and ,frequently joined ,in public prayer. Hi,s marriage was blessed with ·f,ive children, one daughter and four sons, all of whom survive their father. Several months of il,lness ended on November 29. He took comfort from the promises of the Word oOf God during the weeks oOf dwindling strength. He is survived by his wife, Helen; one daughter, Mrs. Pat (Charlotte) ,Fischer, and her husband of Ontario; four sons, Dave and his wife Linda, Elmer and his wife Margaret, of Greendale, 'Edgar and hi,s wi·fe Honey, and Ben and his wife Pamela, of Vancouver; seven 'grandchi'ldren; a brother, Dr. Abe Froese, of Ontario; and two sisters, Miss Agnes Froese, of Vancouver, and (Mrs.) EliZiabeth Siemens, of the Sovie,t Union. The funeral was conducte'd, December 3in the 'Greendale (B.C.) Church with Pastor Harry Heidebrecht and Hev. Henry Dueck ministering.
