AGATHA KATHLEEN UNGER

April 3, 1910, in southern Russia, where she also spent her childhood. From there her parents, t,he Corne'lius Epps, moved to Canada 'in 1924 and seNled in Vineland, Onto A year later -the family moved to Whitewater, Manitoba, where she met Nick Unger, whom she married on September 19, 1931 . They began their married life in Holmfield, Manitoha, and moved from there to Brokenhead, Manitoba. In 1936 they moved t'O Leamington, from where they moved to Port Rowan, Ontario, in 1958. It was 'here that her heart condftion first became apparent. She found time to serve the 'lord in serving others. She was aC1:ive in the mission group in the Port Rowan Mennonite Brethren Church as well as in the neighbouring Baptist Church. She was also an active member of the hospital auxiliary and was always making and sending something to a friend or neighbour in need. She made friends easily and was loved by many. A worsening heart c'Onditi'On led to open heart surgery on September 1. Although her condition was grave at first, her condition seemed to be gradually improving. However, on September 18 her weary heart stood still and the Lord called his chil·d home. She suffered much, but her faith in her heavenly Father remained clear and strong. She left a testimony with the dootors and nurses who cared for her. 'One doctor sa-id, "When my duties became heavy and I wa's so weary I 'could hardly go on, she prayed r me." Mrs. Unger's death came one day before the 40th anniversary 'Of the Unger's wedding. Hoses had been 'Ordered for a small celebration in th e hospi,tal ro'Om, but her heavenly Father had other plans. She is survived by her husband, Nick; four daughters, Elsie (Mrs. Henry) Wi"'ms, Leamington, Martha (Mrs. jJim) Heseltine, St. Thomas, Lorene (Mrs . Lothar) Olfer-t, Port Rowan, and Wilma (Mrs. Peter) Hildebrand, Port Rowan; a son, W ·ilbert, and his wife Linda, Port Rowan; a half-brother, Jake Holrzrichter, Leamington; her step-mother, Mrs. Susanna Epp, Leamington; and 16 grandchHdren. The funeral was conducted at the Port Howan Church on September 21 by Rev. Abram Block.
