Birth date: 1931 May 21

text of obituary:

Our son Joseph Schmidt, was born on the 21st day of May 1931, and died on May 30, 1931. The short span of his earthly existence is 9 days and 9 hours. He leaves to mourn his early departure his bereaved parents, 4 brothers, one sister, 2 grandfathers, one grandmother and many relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Sunday morning May 31, 1931. Rev. A. W. Froese spoke words of comfort at the home of the bereaved parents. Text: 2 Samuel 12: 23.

Now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me: It is a blessed and most comforting thought that while our loved ones cannot return to us we can go to them. The cruel parting need not be forever. There will be a reunion by and by; And God shall wipe away all tears. As we read the promises of God they seem to grow ever richer and more satisfying. We have tears here aplenty and sorrows that break our hearts. But there is promised a home more beautiful than anything of which we can conceive; a home where there will be no pain or sorrows, or trouble. God lives and has prepared a place for us where parting will be no more. A. W. Froese.
