PETER D. LOEWEN

Peter D. Loewen was born on January 16, 1906 in Muensterberg, Sagradowka, South Russia, the son of Dietrich and Kornelia Loewen. At the age of 16 he accepted Christ as his personal Saviour and was baptized and accepted into the Mennonite Brethren Church in Tiege, Russia, two years later. At the age of 20 he came to Canada and lived at several different places in Saskatchewan. On April 12, 1930, he was married to Liese Wiens at Gilroy, Saskatchewan.

On April 12, 1969 he passed away in his home near Carrot River. The funeral service was held in the Mennonite Brethren Gospel Mission in Carrot River. Ministering at the funeral were the pastor, Mr. Rueben Andres, and Rev. Victor Nickel. Left to mourn his passing are his wife; two sons, Dick and his wife Kay, and Henry and his wife Janette; six daughters, Mrs. Jake (Mary) Leiding. Mrs. Peter (Lena) Thiessen, Liese, Anne, Mrs. Jake (Susie) Dyck, and Netha; his parents; two brothers; four sisters and seven grandchildren.
