JOHN SPEISER
John Speiser, 65, of SaskatQQn went tQ be with the Lord on March 12 after an operatiQn and shQrt illness. He was born February 28, 1904, at Laird, Sask., to Rudolph and Anna (Labun) Speiser. His childhoQd and schoQI days he spent with his parents 'on the farm. He accepted the LQrd as his SaviQur at the age 'Of eight,
He was baptized and jQined the MennQnite Brethren Church at Laird when he was fQurteen. In his YQuth,he attended the RQsthern Academy and Bethany Bible Institute. FQr many years he taught Sunday schQQI in his church and he alsQ served the Lord as trustee and church usher. He IQved the LQrd and prayed much, especially fQr the unsaved.
On September 19, 1937, he was married tQ Albertine Nikkel, and until three years agQ they farme·d near Laif'd, They had lived in SaskatQQn since then, Mr. Speiser is survived by his wife; four sons, Larry 'Of OutlQQk, Sask" Capt, James L. and Lt. David of BagQtville, P.Q., and RQbert of Beechy, Sask.; fQur daughters-,in-Iaw; a daughter, Ruth; five grandchildren; three sisters and three brothers.
The funeral was observed in the Central MennQnite Brethren Church 'Of SaskatQQn 'On March 15 with the brethren HEmry J. Harder and Nick Willems ministering.
