Widely Known Bishop And Former Editor Called Away in Death

F. C. FRICKE MANY YEARS MODERATOR OF CHURCH OF GOD IN CHRIST, MENNONITE

Word has been received here of the death of Bishop F. C. Fricke, widely known minister of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, at Ithaca, Michigan, on Sunday, July 6.

Having formerly been moderator of the conference, he presided at a number of church-wide sessions held at the Lonetree church near Galva and had many acquaintances on this and other Kansas communities. In addition to his ministerial duties, he served as editor of the Messenger of Truth, the official conference publication, from 1906 to 1942.

Not only to his immediate family, but the others also, he was an understanding counsellor and friend.

Bishop Fricke was born at Hanover, Prussia, on April 14, 1867, but came to this country in his youth. On Dec. 10, 1890, he was married to Leah B. Litwiller of St. Johns, Mich. To this union 10 children were born, one of whom preceded the father in death.
