ORA W. MILLER

Ora W. Miller was born Oct. 8, 1924, in Johnson County, Iowa, to Will E. and Lizzie Miller. He died June 23, 1988.

He accepted Christ in his youth and was baptized in the Amish church. He later transferred his membership to Fairview Conservative Mennonite Church, Kalona, where he was a faithful member until his death. His life reflected his love for Christ and people.

He was married to Fannie Elizabeth Beachy on Nov. 28, 1946. She preceded him in death on Nov. 13, 1984. He married Nina Gingerich on March 29, 1986.

He retired from farming in 1985. He had met a goal of reading the Bible through in 1988 and completed the Old Testament shortly before his death.

Surviving are his wife, Nina; six children and their spouses, Merle and Sandy Miller of Kalona, Mary and Merle Hochstedler of Goshen, Ind., Eileen and Doug Daniels of Council bluffs, Iowa, Linda and Arnold Shetler of Plain City, Ohio, Rosetta and Leonard Shetler of Bristol, Ind., and Leora Miller of Goshen, Ind. Donnie Sath of Hayward, Wis., has been a part of the family since 1978.

Also surviving are his mother, Lizzie Miller of Kalona; nine grandchildren; a brother, Elijah of Pulaski, Iowas; and one sister, Marjorie (Mrs. Ervin) Chupp of Fairplay, S. C.

Preceding him in death were one son, Norman, in 1949; a sister Rosetta Glick; four brothers, Wayne, Marion, Menos and Vernon; and his father, Will, in 1963.

Memorial services were held at Fairview Conservative Mennonite Church on June 25, 1988. Interment was in the church cemetery.
