— It was a large funeral that was held at 2:30 o'clock last Sunday afternoon at the Tabor church for Erwin [sic Irvin] Hiebert, 17 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Hiebert of Burns, who passed away Tuesday night, Sept. 29. Mr. Durbin, principal of the burns high school, read the opening Scripture passage, while Rev. P. H. Richert, pastor of the church, delivered the funeral sermon, bringing a message of comfort and hope for the bereaved family. Special music was given by the men's octet and a ladies quartet, who sang the deceased boy's favorite song, "My Mother's Bible". Rev. H. B. Schmidt made closing remarks and led in prayer. Pall bearers were Adolf Janzen, Ernie Unruh, Art Schmidt, Ronald Woelk, Edwin Stucky, and Arnold Balzer. interment was made in the Tabor cemetery.
