MARGARET EPP JANTZEN

Margaret Epp Jantzen was born Dec. 11, 1892 at Beatrice, Neb., daughter of Claass and Anna Pauls Epp.

On May 15, 1910, upon confession of faith in Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour, she was baptized by Rev. Gerhard Penner at the First Mennonite Church, Beatrice. later she transferred her membership to the Bethel Mennonite Church of Marion, S. D.

She was united in holy matrimony with John J. Jantzen on Sept. 23, 1915. Together they shared life's problems, joys and sorrows for 45 years and six months. Most of their married life was spent on a farm near Dolton. In 1955 they retired to Marion where they enjoyed the fellowship of their neighbors and many friends.

On Oct. 30, 1962, she suffered a heart attack which hospitalized her for 10 days at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls. On Nov. 24 she suffered her second attack and was hospitalized at he Freeman Community where she remained bedfast until her death. She passed away Dec. 13, 1962, having reached the age of 70 years and two days. During her final illness, she often expressed the desire to be with Jesus.
