Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, Oct. 14, at the Alexanderwohl church for Mrs. Selma Hildebrand, 65, of Newton. Rev. Ronald Krehbiel officiated. Mrs. Hildebrand died Oct. 12. She and her husband, Bernhard, farmed in the Goessel community for many years. They moved to Hillsboro in 1958 and to Newton in 1965. Survivors include the widower of the home; one daughter, Deloris Schmidt of Newton; one brother, Alvin Warkentin of Newton; one foster brother, J. W. Conrath of Walton; four step-brothers, Art, Mike and John Schmidt, all of Newton, and Ben Schmidt of Wichita; one step-sister, Mary Truex of Peabody; and two grandchildren.
