AGATHA ESAU

Agatha Esau died Oct. 2. She was born Jan . 13, 1914 in Vinita, Okla. to Dietrich K. and Sara Esau. The family lived in Fair- view, Okla., Gladys, Alta., and Swalwell, Alta. Agatha attended Coaldale (Alta.) Bible School, took a correspond- ence course in nursing, and attended business school in Calgary. She worked at a variety of jobs, including running a birthing home, oper- ating a coffee shop, and working as a domestic, receptionist, and bookkeeper. She also com- pleted a 3-year assignment with MCC in Jordan. Upon retirement, she moved to Linden, Alta. The church was an integral part of Agatha's life. She served the Lord through teaching Sunday school, working in the library, and being part of the quilting group. Agatha enjoyed painting, gardening, and volunteering at the MCC thrift store, and was a binding force in her large ex- tended family. She was strong-minded, loving, quirky, faithful, creative, and humorous with strong roots in the earth, her family, and her faith. Predeceased by 8 sisters; 3 brothers; Ag- atha is mourned by brother Henry; sister Clara; many nieces and nephews. The funeral was Oct. 6 at Linden MB Church.
