WINNIFRED (FREDA) HELENA WIEBE

reda Wiebe died peacefully in her sleep Feb. 24. She was born Oct. 7, 1922 in Brixham, England to Albert and Victoria Gamble. On Oct. 17, 1942 she married Canadian soldier Vic Wiebe, whom she met while singing at Brixham Baptist Chapel. She and their 18- month-old son joined Vic in Canada in 1946, travelling with other war brides on the Aqui- tania. After Freda's arrival in her new country, the family lived near Yarrow, B.C. before moving to a dairy farm in Arnold. As their children moved to homes of their own, Fre- da and Vic sold the farm . Freda had a strong Christian faith, and enjoyed singing and playing the organ at Abbotsford Presbyterian Church. Upon moving to Central Heights MB Church, she was active in Sunday school classes, Ladies Open Door Fellowship, and Jubilee Singers. Predeceased by husband Vic - tor; 1 brother; 1 grandson; 1 great-grand- son; she is mourned by children Wayne (Ar- lene), Victor (Eren), Valerie (Kip) Miller, Kathi Farquhar, Larry, Sheila, Duane (Jeannie), and Bryan; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 brother. The funeral was Mar. 2 at Central Heights MB Church, Abbotsford, B.C.
