GEORGE BARTSCH

George Bartsch died

Feb . 10. He was born July 1 7, 1926 in Hague, Sask. to Henry and Aganetha Bartsch. At 4 he contracted po- lio which left him para- lyzed in his legs and right side of his body. He maintained a posi- tive outlook on life. He was not able to finish high school because of his handicap. At 20, the family moved to Ab- botsford, attending West Abbotsford Men- nonite Church. He became a Christian at 21 . He became a watchmaker, opening a small shop in Clearbrook. In 1955 he married Su - san Isaak . They were founding members of Prairie Chapel, a church plant. In 1974 they joined Central Heights MB Church. He was known as an honest and respected business- man and exhibited his faith in Christ through his actions. He retired in 1992 and was a member of the Clearbrook Golden Age Soci- ety, serving on various committees, includ- ing the tour committee. Predeceased by 1 brother, he is mourned by Susan ; sons Ken of Abbotsford, Randal of Langley and Cris of Vancouver; daughters Lynette of Los Angeles and Joan Godard of Hepburn, Sask; 6 grand- children; 6 sisters; 2 brothers. The funeral was Feb . 15 in Central Heights Church with Chris Douglas and Nick Dyck ministering.
