MARGARET WENDLAND

Margaret Wendland died May 12. She was born Nov. 23, 1915 in Brightholm, Sask. to Stefan and Emma Schmalz . She learned Polish, English and Ger- man, knitting, crochet- ing and household skills . She was raised in the Lutheran faith. She married Edward Wendland july 27, 1935. He was a teacher. She looked after the farm near Waldheim, Sask . She took her children to church with horses and sleigh or buggy. She was baptized upon confession of her faith by H.A. Willems and joined Brotherfield MB Church near Waldheim, Sask. They moved into Waldheim in 1946 and were involved in a john Deere farm machinery business . Ed- ward died in 1984. In 1986 she moved into Mennonite Nursing Home in Rosthern, Sask. Predeceased by Edward, 4 children in infancy, and 2 sisters, she is mourned by sons Rueben, Prince Albert, Sask .; Wilfred, Kelowna, B.C.; Hildor, Prespatou, B.C.; Ben, Langley, B.C. ; Leslie, Fort St. john, B.C. ; Dan, Waldheim; daughters Grace Plett, Stratford, Ont.; Gloria, Burnaby, B.C.; I brother; 1 sister; 20 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.
