JACOB VOTH

Jacob Voth died Aug. 30 . He was born Mar. 23, 1916 to Johann and Sarah Voth in Her- bert, Sask. He based his conversion on Isa - iah 53:5,6. He was baptized in 1935 and joined Greenfarm MB Church. He attended Herbert Bible School for 4 years : He married Ruth Penner Oct. 13, 1940. They farmed in Greenfarm. He loved the Lord and desired to serve Him faithfully. He taught Sunday school, sang in a choir and a quartet, played his guitar and led the church, preaching when needed. When the Greenfarm church amalgamated with Her- bert MB Church he was a deacon, building committee chair and Sunday school teacher. He served on the Bethany Bible Institute board. He retired to Abbotsford in 1981, lat- er moving to Lethbridge, Alta. He did wood- work. He loved to travel and visited Africa, Brazil, as well as places in U.S . and Canada. He was a quiet, gentle man of integrity, faith and commitment to the Lord and his family. He was often heard humming a hymn or chorus. He is mourned by Ruth; daughters Merle Carlson, Elaine Hiebert, Dianne Voth, Karen McDonald, Verona Mullison; son Ver - Ian. The funeral was Sept 4. in Lethbridge Evangelical Free Church.
