JACOB H> QUIRING

Jacob H. Quiring died July 24. He was born June 10, 1913 in Hep- burn, Sask. to Henry C. and Maria Quiring. He accepted the Lord and was baptized as a youth, joining Dalme- ny (Sask.) MB Church. He studied at Winkler (Man.) Bible School then taught at Coaldale Bible School from 1936-1939 upon a recommendation from A.H. Unruh. He married Annie Enns June 27, 1937. He taught at Dalmeny Bible School and Winkler Bible School He graduated from Tabor College, Hillsboro, Kan. in 1945. He taught at MB Bible College, Winnipeg for 10 years, then pastored Winkler MB Church for 7 years. He then returned to MBBC, serving as president. He pastored Bakerview MB Church, Abbotsford for 9 years. He served 3 years in Austria, then as interim pastor in Kil- larneyPark, Vancouver, and Kelowna (B. C.) MB Church. He served as moderator of the Canadian MB Conference and B.C. MB Con- ference. He retired in Abbotsford in 1982 af- ter 46 years of public ministry. Predeceased by daughter Linda in 1981, he is mourned by Annie; daughter Lois Wiens; sons Robert and David; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grand- children; 2 brothers; 2 sisters. The funeral was July 28 in Bakerview MB Church.
