Agnes (Sawatzky) Janzen died Nov. 20. She was born Mar. 5, 1913 in Osterwick, Ukraine. She accepted Jesus at age 9 and was baptized at 16 at the last public baptism for Mennonites in Ukraine. She married Friedrich Mensch Mar. 18, 1935. The family fled Ukraine dur- ing World War II and came to Canada in 1948. Friedrich died May 13, 1963. Agnes worked for a number of Lethbridge, Alta. families. She married George Janzen from Abbotsford, B.C. in 1977. She was a strong woman, much loved by others. Prede- ceased by Friedrich, she is mourned by sons Art, Nick, Harry, Fred, Willie, Vic; daughter Joan Byrne; 3 brothers; 3 sisters; the Janzen family. The funeral was Nov. 24 in Clear- brook (B.C.) MB Church.
