ERNA VOTH

Erna Voth died Dec. 2 in Abbotsford, B.C. She was born Feb. 25, 1918 in Wiesenfeld, Russia to Gerhard and Susie Froese. Her parents both died on the same day in October 1922. Erna was adopted by her aunt and uncle Anna and Henry Voth. They immigrated to Canada, living in Saskatchewan, Manitoba and B.C. Sister Mary joined her at Bible school in Yarrow, B.C. In 1951 the Voths moved to Reedley, Calif. She attended Fresno State University, becoming an elementary school teacher. She moved back to B.C. and taught in Clearbrook until re- tiring at age 60. She cared for her adopted parents until their deaths. In 1989 sister Lydia and her daughter and granddaughter came to Canada from Russia, living with Erna. Erna helped Lydia accept the Lord before she died. Erna moved into Menno Home when her health declined. She gave first place to God in her life and visited people with the Evangelism Encouragers. She had a big heart and was de- voted to family and friends. She is mourned by sister Mary. The funeral was Dec. 5 in Clearbrook MB Church.
