EDGAR MERTON PENNER

Edgar Merton Pe nner of

Linden, Alt a. p assed away july 8. He was born j an. 1, 1925 to Abram W. and Kath er- ine Pen n er in Rosenort, Man. He married Edn a Megli july 2 7, 1951 in Linden . They mo ved to Li nden, wh ere they took L-_--=L.....<L.:JI_-""" up grain and dairy farm- ing, working with brother-in-law Sam Megli. In the 1980s son Ro n rejoined him on the family dairy farm, and he began to pursue his interest in woodworking . He eventually sold the fa rm an d moved to Linden, w here he la unched his bu siness, "Grandpa's Woodsh op". He neve r rea lly ret ire d, enjoyed working in h is woodshop and made many new friends. He and Ed na tr av- ell ed throughout North America and to En g- la nd. He sang in the choir an d men 's choru s, and was ch urch registrar and a deacon in Lin- den MB Church. He was hospitalized with an inoperable bra in tumour in May 2002. He is m ou rned by Edna; children Robert of Calgary, Dawn Ritz of Edmonton, Heather McCutcheon of Calgary and Wayne of Calgary; 11 grand- ch ildren; 3 brothers and 1 sister. Th e funeral w as july 11 in Linden MB Church, with Konrad Lo ewe n ministering.
