ELIZABETH BLOCK

Eliza beth Block of St. Catharin es , Ont. pas sed away july 22. She w as born Aug. 15, 1910 to ...,....... ~ ..•- Peter and Liese Petkau in Orenburg, south Ru s- sia. In 1926 the family immigrated to Canad a. She w as baptized and joined Steinbach (Man.) L-.._~__---' MB Church june 7, 1927. Sh e married Abram j. Block Oct. 20, 1929 at Oxbow, Sask. She was a skilful hom e- maker. Sh e faithfully supported Abram, who se minist ry as a pr ea cher and teacher required many mo ves. Sh e d id not complain. Her fa mily was her first p ri ority. She lo ved music , had a bea utiful sin g in g vo ice, encour aged her chil- dren to be in volved in musi c an d enjoyed play- ing guitar duets with Abr am. In 1980 th ey moved to Tab or Apa rtment s. Pr edeceased by Ab ram in 1982 and son Pete r in 1992, she is mourned by children El sie, john, Aga tha Br aun, Abe , Fri eda Peckham, Lydia Wie n s, Da niel, Dave and Wal t er; 25 grand ch ildren and 52 great-grandchildren. The funeral was july 26 at Sco tt St. MB Church , St. Ca tharine s, with john Block an d Tom Friesen ministering.
