HENRY WILLMS
henry Willms passed
away Apr. 7 of a heart attack. He was born June 26, 1929 to Abram and
Mary Willms on a farm
near Kelstern, Sask. He accepted Christ as a young
boy. In 1947 he and brother Ab moved to B.C.
He attend ed Prairie Bible Institute in Three Hills,
Alta. 1951 -56 . While in school, he travelled a sum-
mer with a team singing in a duet and another
year with a qu artet. In 1957 he travelled as a
soloi st with a spe aker visiting various churches. He
marri ed Viol et Tetz July 13, 1957 . They pastored
th eir fir st church in La Glace, Alta. In 1960 they
mov ed to Calgary, where he became assistant to
th e pastor at Highland MB Church and sold World
Book Childcraft. He attended MB Bible College in
Winnip eg 1962-65, serving as supply pastor in
Winnip ego sis and Horndean, Man . They pastored
Br andon (Man .) MB Church for 10 1/2 years and
Highl and MB Church for 8 1/2 years. They became
charter members of Highland's daughter church,
Dalhou sie Community Church in Calgary, serving
as pa stor couple for 6 1/2 years . He was pastor of
visitation and seniors' ministry at Willingdon
Church in Burnaby, B.C., 1990-94. They served in -
terim pas toral assignments at North Langley Com-
munity Church in Langley, B.C., La Glace Bible Fel-
lowship Church, Chilliwack (B.C) Central MB
Church , Coaldale (Alta .) MB Church, Murrayville
Community Church in Langley and Peace Arch Fel-
low ship in White Rock, B.C. On Oct. 1, 2000 he
join ed th e staff at North Langley Community
Church on a half-time basis . He enjoyed sharing
th e gosp el and ministering to people not only in
church es but also on mission trips to in South Ko-
rea and Fiji. Pred ece ased by 1 brother, he is
mourn ed by Vi; daughters Cheryl Schmucker and
Elain e; 4 sisters and 1 brother. The memorial service
was Apr. 20 in Willingdon Church.
